The story of the Indian pile carpet began in the sixteenth century, around 1580 A.D., when Mughal emperor Akbar brought some Persian carpet weavers to India and set up a royal workshop for them in his own palace.

At Hali we have sought to recreate these masterpieces using the finest wools and natural dyes where ever possible. Many of the designs are sourced from museums and private collections and brought back to life to adorn homes of the modern era.

At Hali we call these masterpieces The Mirage Collection.

In keeping with the style of the era, Amritsars incorporate the simplicity of large open designs with old world floral motifs making them the perfect compliment to both modern and traditional settings.
