Rug Care

GENERAL CARE SPROUTING
Regular vacuuming will keep your carpet in top condition. Occasionally an individual strand can come loose, do not pull on this strand as you will ruin the integrity of the rug. Cut the loose strand level with the pile height to fix.
SPILL REMOVAL SHADING
Dab (do not rub) all liquid spills with a sponge immediately. Use salt or soda water to draw out any red wine spills. Shading is characteristic of all handknotted carpets. The shading is due to pile lying at different angles and can range from a small patch to a strip across the rug.
STAIN/SPOT REMOVAL FLUFFING
Use a very mild soap or wool wash (anything with harsh chemicals may lift the dye) to spot clean any stains. New rugs fluff as there are still loose fibres within the carpet. All new rugs will fluff until the carpet has settled.
