After the runaway success of our debut Icons collection of handmade handtufted rugs (which sold out three times! ) Hali Rugs and Smac Studio introduce a second collaboration bringing together elegance, personality and a confident design evolution.

The new Icons collection features four distinctive designs—Vicenza, Monaco, Seville (pictured) and Marseille—drawing from European influences, each offering a sophisticated aesthetic with a playful twist. Perfect for sophisticated living rooms.
To celebrate the launch Hali hosted press and industry to an intimate evening of food, design and conversation at Sydney's Shell House.

Guests were treated to Negroni's, fine wines and a sit-down dinner at the impressive Sky Bar.
“Going into designing our second collection we had more confidence in what was possible,” says Shona McElroy, Principal of Smac Studio.

Vicenza nods to the iconic woven pattern of Bottega Veneta, translating designer fashion into designer floor wear with a tonal and tactile finish.
“And we had a deeper understanding of how people were going to respond to them, which meant we could push the designs further.”

Monaco mirrors the sweeping curves of the racetrack, with fluid lines that suggest motion and momentum.
Each designer rug takes inspiration from a different cultural or design reference point. Vicenza nods to the iconic woven pattern of Bottega Veneta, translating designer fashion into designer floor wear with a tonal and tactile finish. Marseille brings a sense of lightness and joy, combining playful curves and oversized dots that reflect the topography of the French Riviera. Seville channels the polish of men’s formal dressing, drawing inspiration from the striped details of classic neckties. Monaco mirrors the sweeping curves of the racetrack, with fluid lines that suggest motion and momentum.
Since launching September 1st, the exclusive collection has been widely featured in the design press and well-received in stores, signalling it’s destined to join the ranks of our best-selling first collection.
